Staggering on stilts, in the pursuit of being allowed or being able to fail, when attempting to dwell on things, a commitment to (dropping) becomes a necessity.
Through trial and error, this performance shows a 'struggle of life'.
Dressed in a costume made to fall, Hried challenges the human condition of (having to) keep going and investigates whether the choice to fail is really that bad?
What and who do you encounter when you choose a path other than individual success and excellence, when you dare to fail and show vulnerability?

Hried Van Biervliet is a multimedia artist who plays with the meaning of failure and failing as a guideline. Using performative actions, Hried places himself in positions of social and physical abnormality in public space. In search of accessibility and 'fitting in', Hried challenges the norm, which prefers to show ignorance rather than skill. The tragicomic actions experience a circus influence and an interest in slapstick. Hried's work is infused with a DIY element and a work ethic that is attentive to sustainability and the ecological side of art making.
