Zoë Demoustier

Unfolding an Archive

In Unfolding an Archive, Zoë Demoustier unfolds a visual archive of 20 years of war reporting. The man behind the camera is her father Daniel Demoustier. The search for a relationship with the visual world of world events with which she grew up is like a movement from far and near. In an attempt at a reconstruction, she brings the archive to life. Gradually a choreography of poses and gestures emerges in a broken up timeline of physical memories.

For the New Makers Day you can listen to the sound composition of the performance on the third floor, made by Willem Lenaerts and Rint Mennes, with sounds from the archive of Daniel Demoustier. You will also find an invitation to the performances of Unfolding an Archive and What Remains in season 22-23.
